Job Shadow Placement
This type of work placement is for situations where the client does not have the education or credentials required to perform the essential duties for the identified vocational role. Some examples could be in the case of Real Estate Broker, Addictions Counselor or any other occupations that have very specific education prerequisites and licensing credentials to act within the role. As a result, the client is not able to participate directly in the majority of the day-to-day activities and is merely acting as an observer. Sometimes there is some merit to the observer role as the client is able to gain a better appreciation for the realities of the role as an observer. However, this type of placement is generally limited to a few days or less. This type of placement should be combined with Vocational Counselling and Labour Market Research to expand on the Job Shadow experience.
